Confirm the tank reading and contact the fuel supplier or qualified oil-heat service provider. Do not repeatedly reset the burner or improvise fuel handling.

A zero gauge reading and a no-heat call are not the same diagnosis

Check the thermostat, service switch, circuit breaker, and tank gauge without opening or altering the tank.

Tell the supplier or technician that the burner may have run dry; the fuel line or burner may require qualified service before normal operation.

Oil odor, visible oil, wetness, or staining overrides the ordinary delivery route: avoid ignition sources and use the applicable spill-response path.
